Even though Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico months ago, hundreds of thousands of Puerto Ricans are still feeling the effects. 80{4b67ba8b923a50fd3c2d318c36d85df0f722be16ef3877469216aec8196f2e86} of the population have power once again, but the hurricane literally left the other 20{4b67ba8b923a50fd3c2d318c36d85df0f722be16ef3877469216aec8196f2e86} in the dark. That is, until the arrival of Salvador Gomez Colon.

CNN first reported the story of Gomez Colon on February 1st, 2018. Gomez Colon, a 15-year-old, launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for the hurricane victims. Surpassing his goal of $100,000, he is using the money to deliver solar lamps to Puerto Ricans who still do not have power. He has been doing this since November 2017 and still has thousands more lamps to deliver.

Through his travels, Gomez Colon has seen lots of sadness. Some children rush to complete their homework before nightfall because they do not have artificial light. Many people still do not have running water or access to Internet and television. As a result, Gomez Colon claims that he is lucky to have the support and life that he has.
